Two weeks prior to departure, students will participate in a cultural workshop to prepare them for a respectful and smooth visit to Pakistan. Participants will learn useful Urdu phrases such as greetings and how to bargain in bazaars; discuss cultural nuances such as gender norms, local hospitality, and respect for elders; as well as familiarize themselves with basic Islamic traditions such as dress code for mosque visits and azaan — all this while enjoying Pakistani food!
